It’s a new year and I’m diving head first into owning my own business! I’ve entered the wonderful world of being a work-at-home mom and I love it. A Virtual Assistant is the perfect fit for someone like me. One of my favorite things to do is help someone else’s idea succeed. I excel at taking that idea and turning it into something successful. Give me a task and I will go beyond simply completing it. I will always try to improve it.
A little bit about me: I’m a mother of three kids, ages 5, 3 and 1. I’m married to an amazing man who is in the Air Force, so we’ve moved around quite a bit. My first baby was born in New Mexico and the next two were born in Guam. Currently we live along the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. The most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus. It guides everything I say and do. The Lord has blessed me beyond measure and I’m really excited about this new path He’s bringing me down.
My true passion is writing, so I look forward to using that skill in this new endeavor. I love to write about my faith, my parenting knowledge, and natural and healthy living. But I’m also good at research, so I can write on almost any topic. (Check out my blog on my three years spent living in Guam.) I recently participated in NaNoWriMo2018, where I wrote a book in 30 days. It was quite the experience! I don’t have a lot of spare time with all these little ones in my house, so I was squeezing in writing time during naps or after they went to bed. Sometimes I was up at the crack of dawn, coffee in hand, staring at my laptop and waiting for the words to come. The process really got my creative juices flowing and inspired me to start this business. I’ve been blessed with the ability to write and I’d like to make a living with it.
I work very fast. I read fast, I type fast, I talk fast. I used to drive my mom crazy with how fast I talked. I can still hear the words, “Slow down! No one can understand you!” echoing in my head. I was always the first one done with my tests in school. I still amaze my husband at how quickly I will finish reading a book.
I always meet deadlines, because missing them isn’t an option in my mind. In a previous season of life, I was a television new producer. I produced two live newscasts every day. I’m accustomed to very quick deadlines and I love organization. The messy state of my house due to the three little ones who live here makes me crazy sometimes. I relish the idea of being an organizational tool for someone else, since organization isn’t a realistic goal in my house during this season of little kids.
I hope you’ll come along with me on this journey and watch how it grows! I’m amazed at how quickly the Lord has answered my prayers for guidance and knowledge on this new path. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
